Business programme architecture released for ‘Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+’

14 November 2018

The ‘Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+’ will make its debut on the starting day of the Russian Investment Forum on 13 February 2019. The Forum’s primary objective is to discuss the means of achieving the goal of increasing life expectancy in Russia to 78 years by 2024 and 80 years by 2030.

The discussions held during the business programme will have three key focuses.

The thematic section ‘Demographics: at a tipping point for social change’ will focus on increasing the birth rate, children’s healthcare, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and searching for tools to live longer and support the health of the older generation.

In the ‘Healthcare as a defining criteria for quality of life’ section, the panellists will discuss the availability of medical care and medicine in Russia, reducing the mortality rate from communicable and non-communicable diseases as well as digitalization of the Russian healthcare industry.

The discussions in the section ‘Infrastructure for Healthy Living’ will focus on priority areas where R&D is being carried out to ensure a healthy lifestyle, ways to achieve international standards in personnel matters as well as a four-fold increase in the export of medical services.

One of the key events of the Forum will be the plenary session ‘The challenges and solutions as Russia moves towards life expectancy of 80 years and more’, which will be attended by representatives of the relevant government agencies and regional leaders. The meeting will address key issues concerning demographic development, healthcare, and raising living standards among the population.

“Extraordinary attention is currently being paid to healthcare now because it is number one among the 12 priority projects that have been drafted in accordance with Decree No. 204 of Russian President Vladimir Putin “On National Goals and Strategic Objectives for the Development of the Russian Federation for the Period until 2024” dated 7 May 2018. Meeting the key healthcare objectives to increase life expectancy up to 78 years by 2024 and 80 years by 2030, improve health, and improve Russians’ quality of life are what will largely determine the achievement of other goals and objectives for the country’s socioeconomic development”, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Igor Kagramanyan said.

Detailed information is available on the official website of the event, which is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
