Development of Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation
A session of the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation held as part of Young Enterprise Day featured a business role-play game focused on developing youth entrepreneurship and innovation.
In her opening remarks, Yulia Alferova, Advisor to the Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, said that the Ministry subsidized Russia’s regions to develop small business and innovation. Youth Innovation Centres (YIC) have been established since 2012 and Russia already has more than 300 of them. The programme ‘You are an Entrepreneur’ is intended for young people under 30, aimed to teach them entrepreneurial competences.
Timur Vakhitov, project director of the ‘Project Office’ YIC programme, suggested that the audience split into three business groups to consider seven projects chosen by the Ministry for Economic Development. The groups selected three promising projects: ‘Veterok dehumidifier,’ ‘Agroboss robotic software solution for growing crops in greenhouses,’ and ‘Creating a robotic post-stroke educator.’ All the projects were graded for their practical use prospects, and suggestions were made to their creators for project implementation.
