Golodets: private clinics provide 18% of services covered by compulsory health insurance

27 February 2017

Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets announced at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi that around 20% of services covered by compulsory health insurance are provided by private healthcare institutions, according to TASS reporting.

“At this point in time, 18% of services covered by the compulsory health insurance scheme are provided by private organizations. It’s fair to say that today, it is sometimes these organizations that drive our healthcare system”, Golodets said.

The Minister noted that the volume of high-tech medical care provided in Russia is growing, and that Russian citizens can obtain high-tech treatment through the compulsory insurance scheme at both state-run and private facilities.
